The Beverage Guidance Panel recommends 20-50 ounces per day.
Those who advocate drinking up to a gallon a day should think twice about dispensing that advice (see how drinking too much water can be potentially very dangerous!).
Another problem with drinking too much water – your body responds by shutting down production of vasopressin, a hormone that signals the kidneys to preserve water.
