Ex Smokers Gain 15 lbs

January 24th, 2009

<em>Smokers gain an average of 15 pounds (about 7 kilograms) once they kick the habit. -review of 54 studies involving more than 44,000 subjects.

MY COMMENT: The answer to this problem is clearly regular exercise and healthy nutrition, two foreign concepts to most people who smoke. Look for President Obama to put on a few pounds if he actually manages to kick his smoking habit. My guess is US presidents have plenty of temptations to increase calorie intake.
