Weight Loss Diet Promises You Should Avoid

February 7th, 2009

A diet that promises very fast weight loss — anything more than a pound or two per week.

A diet that promises weight loss without changing diet habits or engaging in an exercise program.

A diet that is promoted by “scientific” testimonials and pictures of “before” and “after” success stories.

A diet that involves expensive seminars, medications, or pre-made meals.

A diet that focuses on very few acceptable foods, and doesn’t focus on a healthy, balanced diet.

A diet that points to simple explanations drawn from confusing research.

If Acai Berry Worked- Oprah Would Be Thin

January 26th, 2009

We even had 3 people in our office lose 14-16 Lbs in 3-4 days with the Acai Burn formula. theacaiberryreport.com

Flush-20Lbs.-With #1Rated-Superfood-on-Oprah‏

I am getting tired of the hype surrounding Acai Berry. Sure this tiny fruit from Brazil appears to be loaded with healthy antioxidants, but don’t think for a minute that you can overcome lack of exercise and an excessive caloric intake and lose a significant amount of weight just by eating a small fruit or drinking it’s juice.

My Muscles are Confused Enough

January 25th, 2009

Looking to add muscle and create definition like those appealing ads that feature sensational before and after photos? Don’t think you can do it in just 90 days.

“To make a change in how you look, you are talking about a significant period of training,” Dr. Kraemer said. “In our studies it takes six months to a year.” And, he added, that is with regular strength-training workouts, using the appropriate weights and with a carefully designed individualized program. “That is what the reality is,” he said. -Fitness Isn’t an Overnight Sensation

Check out P90X that promotes a training concept called “Muscle Confusion.” Trust me, muscles don’t think and cannot get confused.

You will get results, but are you prepared to give this an hour a day as the program requires?

Thighmaster

January 20th, 2009

I watched an interview with Suzanne Sommers last night, who is out hawking her new book Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness.

During the interview, Sommers mentioned that they stopped promoting the Thighmaster after 10 million were sold, proving there are at least 10 million suckers out there.

SkinnyBoost

January 11th, 2009

Here is another spam I received from another miracle weight loss product- SkinnyBoost.
-Balanced energy
-Patented hunger control
-Burns fat

SkinnyBoost immediately “flips the switch” and tells our bodies to burn body-fat first instead of the carbs we eat. This is called “dietary induced thermogenisis” or DIT and it is what separates SkinnyBoost from all other weight loss and energy products”

MY COMMENT- I went to the website and as usual found plenty of claims and testimonials. What I would like to know is this-

Who is on the SkinnyScience Team, a supposed who’s who of experts on the glycemic and Celphalic research? If they are really 20 years ahead of current diet science, lets see them come out from behind their secret lab and show us some published research.

Another important consideration- let’s see a list of ingredients. Don’t take something if you don’t know what it is.

Finally, be aware that when you order this product you will be shipped product and billed monthly until you cancel.

My advice- Don’t waste your $! Until I see some facts, I have to believe this is just another weight loss scam.

Complaints about Real Solutions- the company behind Xanthin3

I also keep receiving pills I did not order. How do I get this to stop????????

i also received pill i did not order, but also am not getting my refund which was submitted on july 28 o8.

I received a package in the mail that I never ordered called xanithin 3 never heard of it there’s no website or number to call the company to cancel. The package come with no order form. Just today money was taken from my account. I canceled my account. I know it’s not over yet with these

I responded to an ad to receive one order of pills free and I just paid shipping and handling. I received the pills, but last week I received another bottle that I did not order. I haven’t received my credit card statement yet for either purchase, but after reading these complaints, I’m sure I have been charged for both orders. Please register my complaint.

I have also received xanithin3 in the mail. There is no inv0ice or record or number to call.If s anyone finds a number please print it so all of us who have been taken advantage of can do something about it.

thank you for your help,

I also keep getting charged for these diet pills that I did not authorize. My bank says only way to stop is to cancel my acct. Why should I need to go thru all this if I didn’t agree. Beware who you give your card number to because it will cost you headaches in the longrun! Plus you can’t even contact them. Where are they???

MY COMMENT:  Don’t be taken in by deceiving ads and outrageous claims.  And don’t ever give out your credit card number or you will be charged.

check out dietblogtalk.com for more complaints

Read the fine print on the ad- “all statements on this site considered not typical of the average user” Now that I believe!

Are You Buying a Weight Loss Product?

    December 1st, 2008

Globally every year, obese people waste billions of pounds on food products that ‘imply’ that they aid weight loss, but are totally ineffective, says a nutritional expert on the British Medical Journal website. -sciencedaily.com

MY COMMENTS:  Weight loss gimmicks do not work, especially those that promote quick results.
