So here’s the Atkins diet: in theory, you’re removing virtually all of the carbohydrates, but you don’t tell people to eat less. You tell them to eat as much as they want. It’s like you’re setting the diet to zero carbohydrates, and as much fat as possible. According to conventional wisdom, you should certainly not lose weight and you might even gain it. But here were five studies saying that, lo and behold, people really do lose weight when you remove the carbohydrates from the diet, and they lose more weight than they do when you tell them to keep the carbohydrates but eat less calories. What’s more, their cholesterol profiles actually improve, so how can fat or saturated fat be bad for your cholesterol, if these high fat, high saturated fat diets make your cholesterol levels better -science writer

I know what you are thinking but no, the BRAT Diet doesn’t refer to those famous Johnsonville Brats from Wisconsin.
The BRAT Diet is not something you would normally eat at a Packer game. BRAT stands for bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. It’s a bland, low fiber diet for next time you suffer from diarrhea, vomiting or an upset stomach. These are binding foods that can help ease you back into normal eating.

“If I had to pick one thing I could fix to stop diets from failing, it would be all-or-nothing thinking and all-or-nothing acting,” - Martin Binks, PhD, director of behavioral health research at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center

The 5 Factor Diet looks like another best seller with testimonials from a handful of celebs, including Jessica Simpson who lost 10 pounds in 10 just days! Hats off to author Harley Pasternak who clearly has made a killing in the weight loss industry.
I haven’t read the book- it probably does contain helpful information. I just don’t like the hype. 5factordiet.com Any program or weight loss book that claims a 10 pound weight loss in 10 days has no credibility.

Today I weighed 211, so I’ve lost 79 pounds. I’ve lost seven pounds since Saturday. Yeah, I’m still trying to lose. My original goal was 210, but I’m going to keep going, there’s no reason to stop. I’m going to see what happens at 200, see what happens there. I may keep going. I mean I love this diet. The food is delicious. And, by the way, you know what? There’s one way for me to tell you how I’m doing this because I can’t describe it. I told you, I cannot describe it. It’s too intricate, too detailed. I couldn’t do it. -rushlimbaugh.com
MY COMMENT: When any celebrity loses weight, it’s big news. How did they do it? Rush admits the secret to his success is Quick Weight Loss Centers.
I have to be suspect of any program or diet that uses the word “quick” and claims you can lose 3-7 pounds a week.

Though Kirstie says she still hasn’t gotten back on the exercise equipment, she has begun the weight loss journey. “For the last year and a half, I’ve been researching and developing my own weight loss line, and I’ve actually lost 20 pounds in the last five weeks doing that,” she says.
Kirstie says she can’t reveal anything just yet, but she’s convinced she’s cracked the weight loss code. “It’s not going to be on the market until probably between November and January 1, probably November,” -oprah.com
I just happened to catch part of Oprah’s interview with Kirstie Alley-what a piece of work. I can’t wait to see what she has dreamed up!
