I love Japanese food!

Dave received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Master of Arts degree in exercise physiology from Ball State University. As a graduate student, Dave worked in the Adult Fitness Program founded by Dr. Leroy “Bud” Getchell and participated in research at the famed Human Performance Laboratory under the direction of Dr. David Costill.
Dave has been employed in the health and fitness industry ever since, working for Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, as a contract employee for the U.S. Sports Academy in Saudi Arabia, Martin Memorial Health Systems in Stuart, Florida, the U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan.
Along the way, Dave has had the privilege of fulfilling his passion for helping others by advising thousands of people on how to improve their fitness and health.
Another passion for Dave is writing. In Okinawa, he was the feature Health Promotion Columnist for This Week on Okinawa from 1998-2006. He also wrote a monthly column in The Stuart News and has published in the Saudi Gazette.
Dave’s hobbies can be described in 3 words: running and racing. As a collegian at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Dave was a 2-time Track and Field All-American and is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. His marathon career began in 1971 and currently spans 47 years including a 3rd place finish at the inaugural Chicago Marathon in 1977.
