A Little Extra Protein?

March 18th, 2009

After one year, the average weight loss was similar in the two groups — 23 pounds with the moderate-protein diet, versus roughly 19 pounds with the high-carb diet.

However, the moderate-protein former group lost more fat mass, and had greater improvements in both HDL and triglyceride levels. yahoo

MY COMMENT: The diet of the experimental group was 30% protein, which researchers believe helps to maintain muscle during weight loss.
